Cherry Creek Al Fresco

Cherry Creek Al Fresco – A Food & Wine Event, returned to the vibrant Denver neighborhood of Cherry Creek North this past weekend. We attended the Grand Tasting which was a collection of 20 restaurants, 20 wine & spirit partners, live music, and voting that highlighted the best of Cherry Creek.

We arrived at Cherry Creek Al Fresco’s Grand Tasting which was held at Fillmore Plaza. It was a beautiful evening with a crowd, dressed to impressed in summer soiree attire. Upon arrival, everyone in our group was given wine glasses for sampling; then we started enjoying!

Cherry Creek Al Fresco included sampling from the area's best restaurants, wineries, distilleries, stores & boutiques. All the tents we visited showcased the diverse and sophisticated tastes of the neighborhood's eclectic dining scene. We had a great time with friends tasting & drinking all the different offerings.

One of our favorites from the event was the Pork Belly Anitcucho from Toro. Chef Oscar Padilla was serving up the pork skewers with a big smile & infectious energy. The pork belly was incredibly rich and tender with a nice meaty flavor that was complimented by sweet pineapple cubes.

Another favorite we had was the Tuna Tartare Taco from Del Frisco’s. The albacore tuna was light, mild and fresh with a bit of heat from the spicy aioli. The taco provided nice crunch against the smooth tartare. Ross and Michael were big fans of the tacos.

Funny story: Ross wandered up to a tent that was promoting knives & demonstrating how sharp they were by slicing up vegetables. Ross - not realizing this particular tent was promoting cutlery, not food - grabbed a raw slice of potato and tomato from the cutting board and popped both into his mouth as if it were a crudité sample. Needless to say, he provided some comedic relief to the knife promoters.

Cherry Creek Al Fresco benefited Food for Thought Denver. Food for Thought Denver is a local, 100% volunteer-run organization that supplies food to students across the city, guaranteeing that no student goes hungry over the weekend. Attendees of Cherry Creek North Food & Wine helped support Food for Thought’s mission of fighting childhood hunger in the Denver community.

Big thanks to Cherry Creek Al Fresco, Cherry Creek North, Nicolle Montgomery, Erica Langwell and B Public relations for hosting us!

If you missed Cherry Creek Al Fresco this year, don’t miss out next year babes! xx
