We arrived at Gaylord Rockies and checked-in. Gaylord is dog friendly so Forbes came along with us. We stayed in a Mountain View, Guest room with 1 King bed and Sofa bed.

Mountain View, Guest room

Once we were situated in our room, we headed to the other side of the resort for the Cirque: Spirit of Christmas show at Bubbly Theater. We arrived at the theater 15 minutes prior to show time and found our ticketed, assigned seats. The show was 75 minutes with no intermission. There were restrooms located in the theater if needed. The show was family friendly & for all ages.

Cirque: Spirit of Christmas

Cirque: Spirit of Christmas featured singers, dancers, dazzling acrobatics, feats of flexibility & high-flying stunts. The show followed main character - Noel - as she adventured through her dreams to recapture the magic of the Christmas season.

Christmas at Gaylord Rockies included outdoor, winter activities at ‘Glacier Point’ where patrons could ice skate, snow tube, drive bumper cars on ice and throw snowballs at ‘Snowball Build & Blast’. There were little chalets to rent at Glacier Point if groups wanted a home base for drinking, eating & hanging out around a firepit by the outdoor activities.

I used to figure skate back in the day so I brought my ice skates with me - ice skates are available onsite at Glacier Point to rent. Ross and I were the first ones on the outdoor rink right at 10am. I had a great time skating laps in the beautiful 50 degree weather.

When the sun went down, the resort lit up with Christmas lights. Ross and I explored the grounds and grabbed some hot cocoa from Baking Spirits Bright. I ordered a milk chocolate hot cocoa with a shot of Baileys - it was sweet, creamy, piping hot & delicious.

There are multiple dining options at Gaylord including a steakhouse, Asian & Italian restaurants, as well as a sports bar. The Old Hickory Steakhouse is the “nicest” restaurant on resort grounds and this is where we had dinner during our stay. Full review on Old Hickory Steakhouse HERE.
