Denver Christkindlmarket

Old world holiday charm has once again returned to the heart of Denver! The Denver Christkindlmarket is back at Civic Center Park & we experienced the warmth of this authentic German market this past weekend & had the best time.

The Denver Christkindlmarket is open from November 18th - December 23rd. It is free admission for all patrons (all ages welcome) and the market is open daily. There is no designated parking for the market but there are several parking options surrounding the market including metered street parking, parking lots and parking garages. Make sure to dress warm (dependent on the weather) - the market is held outside.

We paid to park at the Sheraton Denver Hotel’s parking garage and then walked over to the market - it was about an 8 minute walk. We arrived at the market and headed inside. For those 21+, IDs were checked at the entrance in exchange for wristbands in order to drink (or you can have you ID checked by Festival Hall staff).

The market was lined with artisan craft & food vendors; some of whom have traveled all the way from Germany to Denver. We perused the shops and found Bavarian eats, sweets, blown glass ornaments, traditional nutcrackers, firepits & more.

We had a bier garden table reserved for us in the Festival Hall to enjoy live music and imbibe in German holiday libations. The Festival Hall is open Thursday - Saturday, until 10pm. Make your table reservation for the Festival Hall HERE (Reservations are $80 for one table for a 2-hour block, 8 people/table). The Festival Hall is heated.

I highly recommend reserving a table, this is our second year in a row doing so and I can’t say enough good things. It’s so much fun! However, you don't have to have a reservation for the Festival Hall. There's open seating areas inside & outside but the reservation will give you and your party a guaranteed place to sit. A reservation also gives you tableside service for drinks so you don’t have to stand in the festival hall lines!

The Festival Hall Stage was graced by a local band who played traditional and modern takes on German Polka songs, blue grass, schuhplattler and more. The band was fabulous and kept the crowd dancing and singing all night long.

Frenchie was our Christkindlmarket German Maid for the evening and we were obsessed with her. She recommended the best Glühwein (traditional German mulled wine) for us to try along with specialty shots like the Kleiner Feigling. Frenchie’s upbeat energy was contagious & she made our visit to the market so memorable.

I had the Classic White Glühwein with a shot of Apfel in it for an extra dash of flavor. The Glühwein was wonderful; it was a piping hot white wine blend enhanced by aromatics of apple & cinnamon.

For dinner Ross had a gyro from Original by Greeks. Original’s menu featured a wide selection of flavors ranging from savory Gyros and Greek specialties, to sweeter items.

Frenchie was knowledgeable on the market’s vendors and had us try S’mores from S'mores Haus for dessert. S'mores Haus specializes in gooey & decadent artisan s'mores. Frenchie’s daughter, Lily (the sweetest thing) whipped us up some s’mores using a Blue Spruce Forest, Table Top Fire Pit from Baby Firepits.

The fire pit was smokeless, odorless, and non-toxic and allowed us to cook the s’mores without changing the taste or quality of the marshmallows. The S'mores Haus’ s’mores were delicious.

What a night! Frohe Weihnachten und alles Gute für das neue Jahr!

HUGE thanks to the Denver Christkindlmarket, Samantha, Frenchie, Lily and all the Festival Hall staff for hosting us!

Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you. xx
