El Secreto - Doughnuts & Latin Pastries

Gourmet doughnuts have arrived in Denver & El Secreto is delivering them right to your door!

El Secreto owners and professional chefs - Adrian Negron and José Torres - came upon hardship during the pandemic when both of them lost their jobs. Adrian and José were determined to overcome this setback, embrace change and rise above by creating something new. Thus these go-getter chefs introduced El Secreto to Denver!

El Secreto’s doughnuts & latin desserts will take you on an unforgettable flavor journey that will awaken your fifth sense with just one taste, in what Adrian and José call “a secret”. El Secreto!

I had El Secreto’s, Mini Boutique Box delivered to my house and Ross and I were blown away by the outstanding presentation and flavor of the doughnuts & latin dessert.

From left to right, our Mini Boutique Box contained six doughnuts - Secret Coffee, Strawberry Short Cake, The Churro, Horchata 3 Leches, Créme Brûlée, La Mimosa - and one latin dessert, El Quesito.

The Secret Coffee is made with an espresso coffee glaze and drizzled with dark chocolate.

Coffee lovers rejoice! This doughnut got me java-fied with it's coffee flavor and it was freaking DELICIOUS. If I had to choose a favorite out of the boutique box (which is almost impossible because they all are so good!), the Secret Coffee would be my favorite!

The Strawberry Short Cake is made with Madagascar Butter Whipped Cream, Citrus Rose Strawberry and Roasted Peanut. This doughnut is a breakfast treat and dessert that heavenly collide. The big, fluffy doughnut’s texture paired with the creamy interior and crunch of the peanuts was incredible!

The Churro is a square raised yeast donut covered in sugar, cinnamon and adorned with Mexican churros. I love churros and I love doughnuts so this combo was spot on. This doughnut is generously tossed in cinnamon sugar and the churro topping give this doughnut a great crunch. The Churro was Ross' favorite!

The Horchata 3 Leches is made with a rich filling of evaporated milk, almond milk and rice milk.

The filling gave this doughnut a tasty, sweet/cinnamon horchata flavor which is then accompanied by a burnt french meringue top and a maraschino cherry.

The Créme Brûlée has a rich & creamy créme brûlée filling and then is topped with a thin layer of toasted sugar. Wow this doughnut was incredible! The toasted sugar surface gave this doughnut a beautiful crunch and artfully cracked when you bit into it. The crack of the toasted sugar provided amazing texture variation against the soft, fluff of the doughnut.

La Mimosa is a mango and coconut doughnut made from 100% natural fresh products. This doughnut is topped with a prosecco glaze and a toasted coconut rim.

YUM. The coconut had a subtle snap that paired perfectly with the doughnut’s gooey, mango chutney interior (which is infused with sparkling white wine).

El Quesito is a puff pastry filled with queso crema.

A Quesito is a popular pastry in Puerto Rico and this was my first time ever having one; and it won't be my last! The sweet puff pastry dough is wrapped around sweetened queso crema (cream cheese) filling and the exterior of this pastry was generously coated in a sticky sugar glaze. I loved this pastry!
