Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar blew us away this weekend & more than lived up to our expectations.

This is a SUPER popular restaurant so we highly recommend making a reservation! Daughter Thai has indoor and outdoor seating available.

The interior of Daughter Thai is characterized by Thai modern design with vibrant red lanterns, geometric woodwork patterns & rustic wooden furniture.

The Daughter Thai staff was impeccable in their hospitality. The pride each staff member takes in the restaurant is evident and can be seen in their attentive and enthusiastic service with each customer. Ounjit, Orrapan, Tee & several other members of the Daughter Thai staff led us through an incredible dinner.

We started out with cocktails and ordered the Dilemma and Daughter Smile.

a5.jpg

The Dilemma is made with Olmeca Altos Blanco, Fresh house Passion Fruit, Mojito mix, Lime, and Jalapeno.

Yum! The Dilemma was sweet with a subtle spicy edge from the jalapeno. We loved this cocktail.

The Daughter Smile is made with Olmeca Altos Blanco, Lime, Ginger, Lemongrass, Orange, and Thai Chili.

We were so happy Tee recommended this cocktail for us! The Thai Chili gave this cocktail a beautiful, slow-burn aftertaste of spice. We loved this cocktail.

For small plates we had the Heavenly Beef Rolls, Bangkok Ribs and the Oriental Octopus.

The Heavenly Beef Rolls are marinated grilled beef rolled with mango, carrot, celery and mint served in Thai wasabi dressing.

a8.jpg

The beef rolls were great - I've never had a Thai dish like this before! The beef was nice and juicy and then our palates were tickled by the taste of the mint leaves and wasabi dressing encased by the meat. The mint produced a lingering cooling effect on the tongue which was a nice juxtaposition from the initial meaty flavor notes you get from this dish.

The Bangkok Ribs are stewed Bangkok-style ribs with glazed honey palm sugar black soy sauce.

Stick a fork in me, I'm DONE. These sweet candied ribs fell right off the bone and melted in our mouths. They're sweet, savory & will leave you wanting so many more. These ribs are EVERYTHING. A 10/10 must order.

The Oriental Octopus is grilled Octopus with pickled cucumber, served with Thai seafood dressing.

a10.jpg

The octopus had a subtle, nutty flavor with a smooth rubbery texture. The dressing had a nice acidic bite to it. This is a light and refreshing small plate - great for spring and summer!

For classic Thai Kitchen Share plates we had the Pad Thai Goong and the Pineapple Fried Rice.

The Pad Thai Goong is made with stir-fried rice noodles with prawns, egg, bean sprouts, chives, ground peanuts.

a12.jpg

The pad thai had the perfect balance of sweet & savory fusion. There were salty, nutty & sweet flavor notes that connected beautifully with the egg, proteins and veggies. The texture of the noodles against the light crunch of the ground peanuts was perfection. Daughter Thai's Pad Thai Goong is hands down the best pad thai we have EVER had. A treat for the tastebuds and a 10/10 MUST order!!!

The Pineapple Fried Rice is fried rice chicken with yellow curry powder, pineapple ,egg, Cashew nuts, raisins, green onion, garlic and topped with prawns.

a11.jpg

The thick pieces of pineapple, yellow curry powder and garlic added that bolt of Thai flavor I look for in fried rice dishes. & the combination of the large chunks of caramelized pineapple with Thai spices was spot on here - the earthy spiced curry powder provided a solid tanginess to the pineapple's sweetness. This is one of the best fried rice dishes we have ever had! Another must order.

For dessert we had the Mango Sweet Sticky Rice and the Banana Foster.

The Mango Sweet Sticky Rice is made with sweet creamy coconut sticky rice and is served with Sweet Mango.

a14.jpg

The mango was fresh AF and had a tropical, citrusy taste with underlying sour hints. The sticky rice was warm with a chewy texture and complemented the sweet juice of the mango.

The Banana Foster is flambeed banana and served with coconut ice cream.

a13.jpg

Rich, sweet and complex in flavor - we loved this Thai variation on Banana Foster. The palm sugar and rum made for a delicious syrup coating on the bananas. The super subtle acidity of the banana contrasted very well with the syrup coating and the coconut ice cream. The Banana Foster was our favorite dessert!

HUGE thanks to Daughter Thai's staff & Larry Herz for hosting us and we will be back very soon!
