Smōk Barbecue

Where there's Smōk there's fire! We dined at Smōk Barbecue for dinner this past Saturday and this BBQ spot had us getting down on some seriously, delicious fired & smoked meats!

Smōk is located in The Source Hotel & Market in RiNo.

The restaurant executes an easy-going barbecue-joint vibe with the high expectations of a fine-dining chef. General Manager Mickey took care of us along with Operations Specialist Katlin. Mickey & Katlin have been with Smōk since it's opening & they know this restaurant inside and out.

From watching Smōk’s staff while we dined, we could really tell they are a well oiled machine that has great communication with one another and puts an emphasis on customer service and quality meats & ingredients.

We were seated and began looking over Smōk's roster of creative cocktails, wines, spirits and thoughtful list of beers on tap and in bottles from local and out of state craft brewers.

Katlin recommended we start off with a flight of their v popular alcoholic slushies (frozen cocktails) - we were all in! The flight consists of 3, 4oz pours of each frozen cocktail flavor - Strawberry Fields, 18th & Vine and Guzumba Juice,

Strawberry Fields is made with The Family Jones House Vodka, Contratta Rosso, strawberry, lemon, and lavender. 18th & Vine is made with J. Rieger Kansas City Whiskey, peach, lemon, honey, and basil. Guzumba Juice is made with J. Wray Rum, Smith & Cross Rum. All three slushies were awesome but the Guzumba Juice was both Kali and I's favorite!

Mickey then brought us over a barbecue tray fit for a meat-a-tarian lord - BBQ lovers rejoice! This tray was epic. Our smoked meats tray came with white bread, Brisket, Burnt Ends, Smoked Turkey, Pork Spare Ribs, and Smoked Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage. We also had a plethora of specialty Smōk sauces to choose from which was awesome.

Guys, these smoked meats were DAMN good.

The crunchy browned exterior of the meats is testament to how Smōk slow-smokes their meats and the smoking adds an AMAZING sweetness to the meats' flavor. The ribs and sausage were our favorites!

The ribs were tender and flavorful and the meat easily fell off the bone.

The Smoked Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage was juicy AF with a spicy kick and a bold sharp cheddar flavor.

The sausage was unreal!!

For our "To Share" dishes, we had the Smoked Hot Wings, Smoked Jalapeno Poppers, Brisket Queso Blanco & Chips and Nashville Hot Chicharrones. Our favorites here were the Hot Wings and Jalapeno Poppers!

The Smoked Hot Wings come with blue cheese or ranch. The SINFULLY JUICY wings are generously coated with buffalo sauce and fall off the bone with wood-fired flavor.

The Smoked Jalapeno Poppers are made with jalapeno, cheddar, bacon and bbq ranch. I love a good Jalapeno Popper and these bad boys were crispy with a nice subtle spice!

For sides we had Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw and Cornbread. The Mac & Cheese is made with white cheddar and black pepper. The Coleslaw is made with ginger dressing and scallions. The Cornbread is made with cheddar, hatch chile and honey butter. All amazing but that cornbread and the honey butter definitely stole my heart! The cornbread smells and tastes amazing and is filled with roasted hatch chiles.

Mid-meal, Katlin suggested two of Smōk's Cocktails for us - The Smokin Daisy and the Bramble on Brighton.

The Smokin Daisy is made with Arette Blanco Tequila, Ancho Verde Chile liqueur, Bougie pineapple and lime. Bramble on Brighton is made with The Family Jones House Vodka, Giffard’s blackberry liquor, ginger beer, and lemon. We would order both of these cocktails again but The Smokin Daisy was our favorite!

Huge thanks to Smōk & team for having us in! We will be back soon & see you there for some incredible BBQ Denverites!
