Toro, Cherry Creek Art Festival

Last night Toro hosted a kick-off happy hour event for Cherry Creeks Art Festival that runs July 1-3. Festival goers, be sure to visit Hotel Clio’s tent at the corner of second and Clayton to receive an exclusive free margarita card and a 15% discount card for any of Toro’s menu items featured on the art menu.

The happy hour was a partnership with Relevant Art Galleries where beverages & bites were inspired by numerous art pieces displayed.

The culinary creations at the gallery were crafted by Toro's Bar Manager, Eric Garcia, and Chef de Cuisine, Tracy Todd. Enjoying these special drinks & bites alongside the art they represented was such a cool & unique experience.

Once we finished up at the gallery, we headed over to Toro for dinner. Toro has curated an art themed menu available at the restaurant for Cherry Creek Arts Festival. These menu items include the Mercado Margarita, the Amarillo Ceviche, the Lomo Saltado, & the La Bomba.

Our server Aly was exceptional as always; she was kind, quick with service & professional.

The Mercado Margarita was made with Tanteo jalapeño tequila, passion fruit, lime, agave nectar and a hibiscus-rosemary foam.

Just look at that lovely colored margarita - pink & red with touches of yellow. Upon first sip, the hibiscus rosemary foam was the first flavor I tasted - it gave the marg a nice tart flavor. Once through the foam, the spicy sweetness of the jalapeño and passion fruit came though.

The Amarillo Ceviche was made with aji amarillo, leche de tigre, mango, cucumber, and red onion.

The ceviche delivered a burst of fresh & tangy flavors characterized by fruity mango. The acidity of the dish complemented the smooth, fresh ahi.

The Lomo Saltado was made with beef filet, jasmine rice, sweet & sour sauce, heirloom tomatoes, bell peppers and red onion.

This dish was savory with sweet and sour sauce cascading over it.

We ended our artistic journey of a meal on a sweet note with the La Bomba. The La Bomba was made with a chocolate sphere, cookie crumbles, seasonal berries and an array of sorbets and ice cream.

Yum! The dessert was brought out in a half chocolate orb and then playfully smashed onto our table. The dessert was then drizzled with cream & fruit sauce. The dark chocolate sphere pieces were bitter sweet & combined with all the other fillings beautifully.

Big thanks to Toro, Mason, Aly, Anthony, Relevant Art Galleries, Claire Weatherwax, and Prim + Co for hosting us!

Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you! xx
