Reynard Social, Feelin' Foxy Friday

Feeling Foxy? Reynard Social's Feelin' Foxy Friday is the spot to jumpstart your weekend into elevated high gear - with their creative cocktails, bites, mountain views & local DJ - you can find us here all summer long.

Thompson Denver

We arrived at Thompson Denver and headed inside to the 6th floor (this is where you'll find Reynard Social). Reynard Social's host greeted us and ushered us inside to the main lounge.

Reynard Social

The name Reynard is a nod to Reynard the Fox who is a beloved trickster of European folklore - this name bodes well for the aesthetic of rogue playfulness that is Reynard Social. Reynard's lounge seating allows for easy mingling among parties, there's ample space for dancing by the DJ and there are pool tables for those looking for a game. Reynard Social's color scheme is sexy - slate blues and copper browns (like a fox's fur) are used throughout the chalet inspired space. A devious picture of a fox is the focal point behind the bar & don't pass up a chance to use the shotskis!

The local DJ had the music bumping and this set the tone for an upbeat evening. The DJ spins from 6-11pm on Feelin' Foxy Friday.

Local DJ

The staff of Reynard Social is hot, polished & fun. The bartenders were quick to work their mixologist magic and got cocktails out one right after the other. General Manager Christopher Norton took care of us during our visit. Chris' creativity & passion for Reynard were felt in our exchanges and we could see his intriguing influence in the cocktail menu.

We started off our night with cocktails - we had the Paper Passion, Bunny Slope and the One In A Melon.

The Paper Passion was a refined cocktail with a dreamy texture - it had a frothy egg white foam that made for velvety sips.

Paper Passion

The Bunny Slope was served in a darling fox cup - the main flavor notes we got from this cocktail were of smoky mezcal & sweet cinnamon.

Bunny Slope

The One In A Melon was light and refreshing - an easy drinking, smooth sipping sake cocktail.

For bites, Chris started us off with the Keluga Caviar. The Keluga Caviar is served on a house made sea salt potato chip then topped with French onion dip & chives. The caviar was paired with Schlumberger Brut Gruner.

Schlumberger Brut Gruner

This was a beautiful pairing - the Schlumberger Brut Gruner's bubbles cut through the silky richness of the caviar and counterbalanced the saltiness of the potato chip.

The Chilled Seafood is a new seasonal item on the bites menu. The Chilled Seafood platter came with poached shrimp, lump crab, oysters on the half shell, tarragon mayo, spicy cocktail sauce, sweet mustard and lemon.

Chilled Seafood

The Chilled Seafood was fresh AF. The poached shrimp were plump and meaty. The lump crab was sweet. The west coast oysters were gorgeous little salty bites. What really differentiated this seafood platter was the three sauces offered - all of which were delicious. I'm a big sauce girl so I loved the multiple options. Kenzy and I ended up using all three sauces, not only for our seafood platter, but for our other bites as well.

The Truffle Fries are made with grated parmesan and black truffle aioli.

Truffle Fries

The truffle fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy hot on the inside and had just the right amount of subtle, earthy truffle taste. What really catapulted these truffle fries to the next level was dipping them in the sweet mustard & then (get this) dipping them in the lumb crab. LORD HAVE MERCY. Chris gave us this epic dipping idea & it was nothing short of drool-worthy.

The Crispy Curried Cauliflower is made with blistered shishito peppers, golden raisins, pine nuts, and herbs de provence gastrique.

Crispy Curried Cauliflower

The cauliflower was tender and the curry spices lent to vibrant flavor. We appreciated the spice the shishito peppers brought to this dish. We ended up dipping the cauliflower into the tarragon mayo - this combination paired crispy with creamy and made for delicious sweet & savory bites.

Huge thanks to Reynard Social, Reynard’s staff, Chris Norton, Thompson Denver, Alyssa Damato and Studio Love List for hosting us!
