The Denver Christkindlmarket

Frohe Weihnachten!

Frohe Weihnachten means Merry Christmas in German! We visited The Denver Chriskindlmarket over the weekend and we were transported to a German inspired market that is bringing European holiday traditions to Denver. The Market is open November 19 – December 23, 2021 and is located in Civic Center Park. The Denver Christkindlmarket is free entry. The bars and vendors accept both cash and credit cards. If attendees need cash for any reason (specific vendors, tipping etc.), there are ATMs within the perimeter of the Market available for withdrawals.

The Denver Chriskindlmarket is an awesome activity to get everyone into the holiday spirit & a fun experience for the entire family. We had family and friends in town for Thanksgiving and spent a full evening here! It is also dog friendly if you want to bring your furry friends along.

We arrived at the market and were greeted by massive nutcrackers & twinkling Christmas lights.

We then wandered through the market, taking in all the sights and yummy smells. There were rows of charming wooden huts that were selling numerous kinds of finely crafted artisan gifts and holiday treats. These vendors are both Coloradan and international merchants who specialize in the creation of holiday crafts & cooking and or baking of authentic food options. Check out the full list of vendors HERE.

Once we had strolled leisurely through the market and made our purchases, we made our way to the Festival Hall. The Festival Hall is where we enjoyed our food, drinks and to listened to the live music.

We highly recommend making a Festival Hall Table reservations! You can do so HERE.

We tried all sorts of authentic German eats & drinks. We had German bratwurst, apple schnitzel, candied holiday nuts, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider. The bar in the Festival Hall is where 21+ attendees can purchase German biers, shots and Glühwein. Glühwein is hot mulled wine made with red wine, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and orange. The red Glühwein was delicious and I got the collectible Denver Christkindlmarket mug to go with it.

The German holiday frauline - Frenchie - kept us entertained and well hydrated with deliciously infused Schnapps shots. My favorite was the blackberry but the peppermint was a close second! We put the peppermint shots in hot chocolate and it was SO good.

Polka Folka was playing in the Festival Hall during our visit. They played an eclectic mix of traditional European polkas, waltzes, pop tunes & classic Christmas favorites in a polka style. Polka Folka kept the energy of the crowd high and we sang and danced the night away. Check out the entertainment calendar for the market HERE.

SO MUCH FUN. Big thanks to The Denver Christkindlmarket & Samantha for hosting us!
