We dined at Hops & Pie for lunch over the weekend. This Artisan Pizzeria & Craft Beer Taproom is a chill joint where you can enjoy pizza, beer & donuts from Berkeley Donuts. We were seated out on the patio and got to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
To drink, I had a Beer Cocktail - the Raddler. The Raddler is made with Bierstadt Slow Pour Pils & Lemonade.
The Raddler had a solid pilsner taste with a light malt base and moderate hop bitterness. The feel was smooth with lemonade sweetness and a kiss of minerality.
For pizza, we had the Detroit Style made with pepperoni, green peppers, jalapenos and marinara.
This pizza was bomb! It was thick and square-cut with a crunchy, fried bottom layer of crust. The center was airy, soft and chewy while the exterior was nice and crisp. The small pepperoni cups were spicy & crispy. The cheese was caramelized and blanketed in piping hot housemade tomato sauce.
The Artisan Sando of the Week was a fancy Grilled Cheese made with Duck Confit, Crispy Pancetta, Fig Jam, Muenster, Aged White Cheddar & Baby Arugula on our House Bread.
The Krunch Wrap Superior was made with house made chorizo, avocado lime crema, pico, lettuce & scratch queso all bundled up in a crunchy tortilla from Pochito’s Tortilla Factory.
Berkley Donuts is Denver’s only potato-style donut shop, located inside the neighborhood pizza and craft beer joint Hops & Pie. The Colorado potatoes that are used in Berkeley Donuts' make a fluffy and tender donut. We got a box of donuts with inspired flavors such as Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream and Pumpkin Cake with Spiced Cream Cheese.
The Strawberry Homer Vanilla was my favorite!
