Cherry Cricket

Where are my burger enthusiasts?! We had lunch at Cherry Cricket in Cherry Creek this weekend & we could not wait to give their award winning burgers a try!

Cherry Cricket is a long-running icon in the Denver restaurant scene with build-your-own burgers among other American staples & a large beer selection. We were seated in the main dining room and had a prime view of Cherry Cricket's flat screens to watch the Broncos game. Server Bray & Manager Heidi took great care of us during our lunch and ensured our meal ran smoothly!

I started off with a Breckenridge Autumn Ale; a fall seasonal.

This beer was malty, full-bodied with a nutty-sweet middle & left my taste buds with crisp notes of toasted grain.

For appetizers we had the Wings and Chili Cheese Fries.

The Louisiana Wings are served with ranch, blue cheese and celery sticks.

The Wings were solid! The Louisiana buffalo sauce was tangy with a nice vinegar hit & some heat.

The Chili Cheese Fries are made with fries, queso, pork green chili, tomato, and green onions.

YUM. The Chili Cheese fries were smothered in queso-ey chili goodness & piping hot. The pork green chili was savory and bold with tender pieces of pork throughout.

For our mains we had the 720 Jammin' Poblano Burger and the 303 Green Chile Relleno Burger.

The 720 Jammin' Poblano Burger is made with a 1/2 pound cricket burger, pimento cheese, crispy panko crusted poblano pepper, pork belly, cherry pepper raspberry sauce, and served on a brioche bun.

The 720 Jammin' Poblano Burger took 1st place at the Denver burger battle, people's choice in 2021 and we can see why! This burger was nice and juicy and was generously covered in melted pimento cheese. The Pimento cheese was tangy & peppery and coated the roof of our mouths (in a good way). The crispy panko crusted poblano pepper was slightly sweet and the panko added a delicately crisp texture to the burger. The pork belly was rich with an irresistible umami flavor. The raspberry sauce was a gorgeous crimson with a delicious, vibrant raspberry flavor (SO GOOD). The brioche bun was buttery and subtly sweet. What a unique burger with fabulous explosions of taste!

The 303 Green Chile Relleno Burger is made with a 1/2 pound cricket burger, white cheddar, house-made chile relleno, Chef Ronaldo's award-winning Denver style pork green chile, and served on a brioche bun

The 303 Green Chile Relleno Burger took 1st place at the Denver burger battle in 2019! The white cheddar was sharp and salty and paired well with the juicy burger. The chile relleno was fried golden brown and stuffed with cheese. The pork green chili was savory and bold and complemented the sweetness of the brioche bun. This is Ross' favorite burger in town!

For dessert we had the Strawberry Milkshake with chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles, oreos, and whipped cream.

The milkshake was perfect - thick, sweet & cold! So yummy.
