Brunch at Ristorante Del Lago, The Broadmoor

Brunch at Ristorante Del Lago located inside The Broadmoor in the West Tower is great; albeit you may have a slight wait for drinks & food once you’re seated. The Broadmoor currently isn’t providing full breakfast room service for hotel guests (thanks Covid) so the breakfast restaurants themselves are probably busier than normal with actual dine-in customers.

We started off our meal with Caffe Lattes made with almond milk. The Cafe Lattes come with rock candy on the side.

I am OBSESSED with any restaurant who serves coffees with rock candy. I think it adds such a cute flare to the drink and shows some extra thought to detail by the restaurant. The lattes were delicious! They did take a bit to come to the table (15 minutes) but were worth the wait.

For my main, I had the Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes with chocolate chips.

The pancakes were great but were a bit different as the chocolate chips were sprinkled on top of the pancakes rather than folded and baked directly into the pancakes. This made for an uneven distribution of chocolate chips while I was eating as most of the chips were melted to the top cake so the below two cakes didn’t get many chips. However, the menu does specify the Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pancakes with numerous add on choices underneath (one of those being chocolate chips) so I probably should have realized the chips wouldn’t be directly baked in lol; to reiterate, they were still great.

My husband had the Belgian Waffle and Rocky Mountain Breakfast and liked both; but if he had to pick his favorite, it would be the Belgian Waffle.

We had sides of the Apple Wood Smoked Bacon (requested crispy) and the Chicken Apple Sausage. I recommend both of these meats!

It took a little over 35 minutes for our food to come to the table.
