Gorgeous, enormous hats vying for the coveted Macy’s Hat Contest prize, floral print dresses, sear suckers a plenty, and an all you can eat, all you can drink set up! This is what the Denver Derby offers and it NEVER disappoints!
This will be my fourth year attending the Denver Derby and we could not be more excited. We were ECSTATIC to have one of the Denver Derby’s premier sponsors, Macy’s, reach out to us to collaborate for the event!
Macy’s in Cherry Creek treated us on Saturday morning to a fabulous day of shopping and showed us their extensive options of Derby day product. Store manager, Greg Condon, escorted us around and made sure we were on the up and up on all Macy’s Derby attire!
The men’s selection Macy’s offers for the Derby is great. Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger will be your go to brands for derby options and don’t be afraid to stand out in their lighter or more vibrant colored sear suckers and suits! Obviously a fun tie, bow tie, and/or pocket square is highly recommended. The Denver Derby is not an event to be dressed down at!
Now for ladies, you do not want to be caught with your head bare at the Denver Derby! Macy’s has a HUGE selection of hats and fascinators that we were unaware of! No matter the style or color of your dress, you will be able to find the perfect hat at the Cherry Creek Macy's.
Florals, pastels, and lace galore! Macy’s has a Derby dress with your name on it in their vast range of women’s wear!
Store manager, Greg, graciously passed us off to Fashion Stylist, Kimberly James, and people, we LOVE this gal! She is SO knowledgeable about Macy’s product, fantastic at reading your personal style needs, and on top of all that, she is SO much fun!
Macy’s in Cherry Creek is the only Macy’s in the state that offers this personal shopping option for FREE. Not only is getting to work with Kimberly free of charge, you also get 20% off your entire first personal shopping purchase!! Now that’s an offer you CAN’T say no to!
We had the opportunity to meet one of Kimberly’s regular clients, Libby Mullner (such a sweet gal), and she could not say enough great things about Kimberly or the Macy's personal shopping service! Libby is blind and Kimberly has assisted her in building out her ENTIRE Colorado wardrobe. Kimberly ensures that Libby has a wide selection of neutral colored bottoms and fun colored tops & jackets that she can mix and match any day of the week and know she looks fabulous without seeing them.
If you decide to shop with Fashion Stylist Kimberly at Macy’s, you also are treated to an upgraded dressing room, coffee, and bottled water should you get thirsty!
Kimberly helped us pick out several Denver Derby day outfits and here are some of our favorites!
This GUESS white Lattice Lace Popover Sheath Dress is $138 and is classy through and through. These nude Lucite heels (SO trending right now) are INC and are $89.50. This fun pink fascinator is Fine Millinery and is $40.
This Calvin Klein baby pink Lace Pleated Sheath Dress is $139. We love the pleats at the bottom of this dress as it adds a touch of flare to this overall graceful ensemble. This pink and navy blue hat is beautiful and is Fine Millinery and can be purchased for $100.
This GUESS strawberry Lace Cold-Shoulder Sheath Dress is sure to heat things up and turn heads! This dress is $128. These black suede heels are Material Girl.
This Betsy & Adam Lace-Overly Tulle A-Line Dress is EVERYTHING and is $229. Talk about fun and flirty with the pale pink tulle skirt that hits right above the knee. You’ll be dancing your day away at the Denver Derby in this number! This beautiful August Hat Company hat is $128.
Which outfit did we pick and which is your favorite?! Stay tuned to our pictures from the Denver Derby to find out!
Once we wrapped up with Kimberly, Store Manager, Greg, was back to usher us off to the Beauty Department for some Estèe Lauder pampering!
Arezou and Noah were our Beauty Specialists and they gave us the rundown on what products they were focusing on for Denver Derby customers.
The Estèe Lauder counter at Macy’s offers the iMatch which is a digital shade finder to find your perfect foundation, lip, and cheek colors. Once your perfect shades are found, your beauty specialist will then help you apply the recommended product to make sure it’s to your liking!
We were recommended Estèe Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place foundation which provided fabulous coverage without being cakey. It’s important to put a pigmented powder over the the Double Wear foundation such as the Estèe Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer. This way when pictures are taken, all the light won’t reflect off of your face. Arezou also applied Estèe Lauder Pure Color Envy Eye Shadow Palette 04 Rebel Metal, Estèe Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush 410 Rebel Rose, and Sumptous Extreme Mascara.
Needless to say, we had a FABULOUS day shopping till we dropped at Macy’s! Huge shout out to Greg, Kimberly, Arezou, and Noah for hosting us and we look forward to seeing you next week at the Denver Derby!
Thank you Macy’s!!!! XOXO
