Blanchard Family Wines

It’s patio season! We headed to Blanchard Family Wines’ patio in Dairy Block for some wine tasting this past weekend & had a lovely time.

Blanchard Family Wines

We arrived at Blanchard and were seated at a table outside. The weather was gorgeous and we got to enjoy the spring flowers & Dairy Block’s lively alleyway. Founders, James & Shanna took great care of us & ensured our wine flights kept coming. James was incredibly knowledgeable on the wine and educated us on each kind we had. Our server Cassidy was attentive and made sure our waters stayed topped off.

Our wine flight included the Blanc de Noir, Riesling, CO Red Blend, & the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine Flight

The Blanc de Noir was Blanchard Family Wines from Sonoma County. This was a traditional method sparkling constructed from Pinot Noir. The Blanc de Noir was lively on the tongue with flavors of in-season, zesty citrus.

Blanc de Noir

The Riesling was Blanchard Family Wines from Colorado. I am not a big Riesling fan and enjoyed this one - it wasn’t too sweet. The Riesling was medium-dry with a balanced acidity.

Riesling

The CO Red Blend was Blanchard Family Wines from Grand Valley. This red blend had alluring aromas of raspberry. This was my second favorite wine of the flight and is a new addition to Blanchard’s menu (make sure to try it out).

CO Red Blend

The Cabernet Sauvignon was Blanchard Family Wines from Alexander Valley - this was my favorite. The Cab Sauv had a beautiful purplish red garnet in the glass. The taste was big and bold with a smooth finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Ross enjoyed non-alcoholic tea that was really refreshing.

For food we had Charcuterie, a Macaron flight, & Cake Pop flight.

The Charcuterie was a chef's board with daily selections of local meats, cheeses, crackers, and accoutrements.

Charcuterie

The Macarons were seasonal & custom created by Bella Macarons.

Macaron Flight

My favorite was the Lucky Charms macaron. This green macaron was sweet with a cereal inspired filling and went well with the sparkling Blanc de Noir.

The Cake Pops were from Azucar Bakery and were an assortment of seasonal flavors.

Cake Pop Flight

My favorite was the red velvet cake pop. It was dipped in white chocolate and tasted like a combination of chocolate and vanilla cake (cocoa with a slightly tart edge). This cake pop paired exceptionally well with the Cabernet Sauvignon - rich & decadent.

Now that's how to do a Sunday funday!

Huge thanks to Blanchard Family Wines, James, Shanna & Cassidy for hosting us!

Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you. xx
