Microneedling, Contour Collection

Located in Wash Park, Contour Collection is a Boutique Aesthetics Practice offering elevated skin care, cosmetic dermatology and non-invasive procedures. Contour Collection is my go-to for all my facial needs including microneedling, Botox, & facials. I visited this week for microneedling & an exosome treatment.

I arrived at Contour Collection and Ainsley Ellington & Katie Averson greeted me. They made me feel welcome and excited to be there (as always). The space was immaculate and decorated with pops of pink & rose gold. The ladies got me champagne & water to enjoy during my visit.

Katie took me back to a treatment room and we discussed how my microneedling & exosome appointment would run.

Katie gave me a Contour Collection headband to secure my hair back; then she applied a numbing topical to my face and neck. The numbing was applied and we waited 10 minutes for it to kick in.

My microneedling treatment was administered via SkinPen.

SkinPen

The SkinPen treatment works in three steps: inflammation, proliferation and remodeling. The inflammation is where the microneedles in the SkinPen penetrate the skin’s surface and activate the creation of new tissue. The proliferation is where the tiny holes created by the microneedles are rebuilt with new cells & collagen. The remodeling is where new dermal tissue is formed reducing wrinkles & acne scars, leaving the skin smoother and younger-looking (yes please - bring on all of these benefits). For the best results, it's recommended to do at least 3 microneedling treatments spaced 30 days apart.

My microneedling took about 30 minutes. The SkinPen sounded like an electric toothbrush. The direct application of the SkinPen on my face and neck felt like a warm, scratching sensation. I could feel poking & pressure but the numbing ensured I was comfortable.

Following the microneedling, Katie applied the Exosome Regenerative Complex facial serum to my face and neck.

Exosomes are nanoparticles that promote skin rejuvenation & regeneration - the result is a more radiant youthful appearance. The Exosome facial serum tingled on my skin with a subtle burning sensation.

My face was red following treatment and this subsided over the next 48 hours.

I will keep you all posted on results over the next 2 months.
