The Hythe Vail recently completed a $40 million renovation and I could not wait to check out the premium transformations to the hotel. My family and I used to stay at this resort every summer so the location holds a near & dear place in my heart. It's truly the spot that made me fall in love with Vail!

We arrived at The Hythe located in Lionshead Village & pulled underneath the porte-cochère. The porte-cochère is made up of wooden beams, cobblestones & antler chandeliers that gave us that butterfly vacation feeling of arriving somewhere special. The valet attendants were professional & speedy as they unpacked our luggage & ski gear.

We headed inside to The Hythe lobby & my breath was taken away - the space has been enitrely transformed into a plush & modern Vail sanctuary. A central fireplace graces the heart of The Hythe's lobby & is visible from every corner with its open side form. The lobby is decorated in a timeless neutral color palette with soft, brown wood accents & gold light fixtures. The neutral colors and wood selection really complimented the lobby's contemporary & clean finishes.

Once we had taken in every gorgeous touch of the lobby, we got all checked in. The hotel attendant was posh & accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed prior to heading to our room.

We stayed in a Suite that featured 1 King Bed, a fireplace, wet bar, distinctive in-room amenities such as Molton Brown bath products, plush Frette robes, Lavazza coffee, wool throw blankets, and a 55’’ flat-screen TV. The bed was so comfortable - warm and cozy with the softest pillows.

The Hythe provided a sweet welcome note along with gifted Champagne & chocolates - now that's how you make an arrival!

Our dog, Forbes was in tow & The Hythe put a dog bed, food & water bowls and dog treats in our suite with a pet welcome note. Forbes was pawsitively thrilled as were his pawrents! We love a hotel that cares about our furry friends as much as we do.

Our Suite had 2 balconies which boasted grandiose views of the snow dusted Rocky Mountains. We woke up to snow falling both mornings during our stay & it was so romantic!

Once we were situated in our room, we headed downstairs to grab lattes & a snack at the Mountain Ration Grab & Go; then we went outside to enjoy The Hythe's porch area. The porch is equipped with two large firepits, ample seating & s'mores!

The Hythe offers exclusive mountain forward excursions and adventures and Ross took full advantage of the fresh snow to get some skiing in. The ski lift is mere steps away from the resort and Ross skii'd over 25,000 vertical feet in 3 hours!

The pathways surrounding The Hythe & Lionshead Village are all heated which made walking Forbes easy & enjoyable.

We indulged in Après Ski fireside at The Hythe's lobby bar, 10th Mountain. 10th Mountain is partnered with local distillery 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Company and serves up Colorado-crafted whiskey & spirits.

10th Mountain

I enjoyed a Crimson & Clover. The Crimson & Clover is made with 10th Mountain vodka, raspberry, Strogwater ginger citrus bitters, & lemon.

The Crimson & Clover was well-balanced with raspberries and ginger and had a bright touch of acidity from the lemon.

During our stay, we had the pleasure of dining at The Hythe's new culinary concept, Margie's Haas (full review of Margie's Haas dinner to follow) for breakfast & dinner. Margie’s Haas features contemporary alpine-inspired cuisine. For breakfast Ross took full advantage Margie's Haas breakfast buffet which offered a plethora of pastries & other breakfast favorites. I opted for the Waffles with fresh berries.

The Hythe's Well & Being Spa became one of my favorite spots in the resort (full review of the Well & Being Spa to follow). I enjoyed a lovely Oxygen facial with skin care specialist, Kayla and then an increadible couples massage with masseuses, Taylor & Reba.

What a stay!
