Of A Kind

Denver - I have found another restaurant to add to my list of favorites! Let me introduce you to Of A Kind in Cherry Creek. We had an incredible Mediterranean inspired dinner here and I already cannot wait to return!

Of A Kind is located in the Clayton Members Club & Hotel which offers valet parking (a huge plus because finding parking in CC can be difficult, especially around dinner time!). We entered the restaurant and were encompassed by cream woods and warm, honey lighting. Of A Kind's aesthetic is modern with funky artwork throughout - it’s upscale with a vibrant crowd.

Of A Kind's staff was fabulous - our server Brian was attentive and knew the ins and outs of Of A Kind's menu including all the seasonal offerings. General Manager, Michael ensured our meal ran smoothly and was engaging with customers the entire night.

For Cocktails we had the YO SOY JOAQUIN and the MOLLY’S REVIVER.

The YO SOY JOAQUIN is made with Espolon Blanco Tequila, Ancho Reyes Verde, Aperol,Lime, Pineapple, and Habanero.

This cocktail was smooth & subtly sweet with notes of agave and citrus. The Ancho Reyes verde & habanero gave this cocktail a quiet spice and herby kick. The spice was well balanced with a tinge of sweet pucker from the pineapple. I will definitely order the YO SOY JOAQUIN again!

The MOLLY’S REVIVER is made with Skyy Vodka, Cucumber, Ginger, Lime, Averna, and Club Soda.

This cocktail was in the middle of bitter and sweet and the crisp cucumber added a refreshing touch. The Skyy Vodka had a good feeling in the mouth mixed with the club soda. The Averna added an herbal spice with anise, citrus & honey notes.

The GRILLED PEACH & BURRATA is made with Frisée, Radicchio, Hazelnut, Mint, and Watercress.

GUYS. BURY. ME. IN THIS PEACH BURRATA. The palisade peaches were large quarter slices, PERFECTLY ripe with excellent flavor & loaded with chin-dripping juice. Since the peaches were grilled, the sugar-plus-heat combination made for a seductive caramelizing effect on the peaches exterior that had us drooling. Now pair those succulent peaches with the soft milky, buttery flavor of the indulgent burrata and you have a freaking SINFUL burrata salad. The frisee was crisp and the chopped hazelnuts added a great crunch. This dish blew me away and I'm salivating just sitting here thinking about it. I can't wait to have Of A Kind's Peach Burrata again soon! A must order!

The TUNA TARTARE is made with Basil, Arugula, Anchovy, Mustard, Avocado, and Little Gem Lettuce.

This tuna tartare was unique and I appreciated the chef's twist on what is normally a standard dish - we scooped the tartare into the Little Gem Lettuce cups and ate this dish like tacos. There was acidity from the pickle juice in the lettuce cups that tasted amazing with the meaty freshness of the tuna. The tuna tartare was bursting with flavor from the anchovy oil and mustard. It was light, bright and fresh!

The CHICKEN SHAWARMA HUMMUS is made with Castelvetrano Olive, Pine Nut, and Preserved Lemon and we had it served with the ESOTERRA CULINARY GARDEN CRUDITÉS.

The creamy hummus was generously topped with flavorful shawarma chicken. The chicken was thinly cut and marinated with a deep, tangy flavor. We loved the smooth warm texture of the chicken hummus paired with the snap of the numerous garden crudites.

The LABNEH is made with Blackberry Currant Gastrique, House-Made Dukkah, and Mint.

The labneh was thick and spreadable (almost like cream cheese) & had a tangy, sweet taste. The acidic fresh blackberry currant added a beautiful tartness to the labneh. This dish was addictively satisfying. It was my first time having labneh and needles to say I'm now a huge fan!

The CORN GNOCCHI is made with ‘Elote’ Style. Corn Jus, Guajillo, Cilantro, Lime, Cotija, and Crème Fraíche.

WOW. Of A Kind's Corn Gnocchi is award winning and our taste buds can now attest to why! The gnocchi was a creamy version of mexican street corn with happy gnocchi pillows drenched in elote goodness. The soft gnocchi were piping hot and the corn jus burst forth in small explosions of sweetness with every bite. The flavor and texture combinations of this dish were everything. The Corn Gnocchi is a must order when dining at Of A Kind!

The FRIED ZUCCHINI were a gorgeous golden and nice and hot! They were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. YUM.

The MUSHROOM PASTA is House-Made Farfalle served with Local Oyster Mushrooms, Perlagrigia, and Thyme.

The al dente farfalle pasta bows were paired with savory oyster mushrooms and coated in a light buttery sauce. The perlagrigia truffle cheese added gentle flavor notes of spice with an undertone of truffle earthiness.

For dessert we had the PEACH COBBLER which is served with Crème Fraíche Sorbet.

The cobbler had a sultry, sizzling, gooey peach center encrusted with a a sinfully, buttery breaded top layer. This dessert is a spot on comfort delicacy as we transition into the cooler weather of fall and winter!
