Urban Egg, A Daytime Eatery

We had brunch at Urban Egg, A Daytime Eatery over the weekend and had the best time. This place was absolutely bustling and after enjoying a meal here, we know why!

We visited the Urban Egg in DTC off of Belleview. There are numerous Urban Egg locations in Colorado and the newest location just opened in Cherry Creek (3033 E 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80206); so if you're looking for your Urban Egg fix, there are several of them in CO for you to check out.

We were seated in the main dining room and Karla was our server. Karla was sweet as can be and was waiting on each table with enthusiasm & speed. We let Karla and the kitchen lead our brunch, meaning we didn't order and we had them bring out Urban Egg's best! Each thing we had was stellar so it was easy to discern that the staff knows the menu very well.

Karla started us off with an order of Bottle Service. Bottle Service is a 750 ml Bottle of La Bella Prosecco, and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice (for only $34!). Karla added on a side of House House Infused Pineapple Vodka - which is only an additional $8. This side of House Infused Pineapple Vodka is to make a Maui Waui Mimosa. The Maui Waui Mimosa is a staff favorite and is made with Pineapple Vodka, Fresh Orange Juice and Prosecco.

The Maui Waui Mimosas were bomb! The Pineapple Vodka that Urban Egg makes in house is a huge game changer in the brunch cocktail game. The Maui Waui Mimosas were SO refreshing and certainly had an “escape to the islands” flavor - basically everything you could want on a hot day.

The Tatum's Original Avocado Toast is made with Colorado Multi Grain, Smashed Avocado, Choice of Egg, Crispy Bacon, Queso Fresco and Sprouted Organic Quinoa. The Avocado Toast is served with field greens salad with melon & crispy prosciutto.

Tatum's Original Avocado Toast was a fabulous light dish that had an appealing combination of textures. There was a light crunch from the Colorado Multi Grain toast and Crispy Bacon and then a smooth creaminess brought forth by the avocado. The Colorado Multi Grain toast added some nutty flavor notes to this dish overall.

I have to take a moment for the field greens salad with melon & crispy prosciutto because it was amazing. The salad was bright and tangy. I loved how the flavors of prosciutto, balsamic, field greens and melon all blended together. The prosciutto was cooked crispy and salty so made a nice crunchy topping that added a wonderful snap to the salad.

The Chicken & Waffle Benedict is made with a Belgian Pearl Sugar Waffle, Lightly Fried Free Range Chicken, Chili Maple Bacon Butter, Bacon Jam and Hollandaise. Each Benedict is made with Colorado Proud Hickman's Brown Eggs and served with your choice of soup, harvest house salad or hash browns. We had hash browns.

Oh YES! The Chicken & Waffle Benedict marries my two favorite things about brunch - sweet AND savory. The eggs, chicken and waffle were generously doused in hollandaise sauce that was rich, creamy and tasted of lemony butter. The chicken cutlet was lightly fried and nice and juicy. The Belgian Pearl Sugar Waffle was delicate with a beautiful sweetness to it. The Bacon Jam really elevated this benedict to the next level as the sweet, succulent, and tangy spread connected the chicken cutlet to the waffle. Needless to say, if you're a big savory and sweet fan like I am, this is the entrée for you!

The Ultimate Bloody Mary Grilled Cheese (OH YEAH THAT'S RIGHT!) is made with Bloody Mary Battered & Grilled Sourdough, Horseradish Aioli, Sharp Cheddar, Havarti, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Housemade Pickles, Pepperoncini Pepper and Tomato. Each Gourmet Sandwich is served with a choice of fresh fruit, cup of soup, house salad or wedge fries. We had fresh fruit.

This fancy grilled cheese sandwich was deeply golden and generously filled with cheese. The Bloody Mary Battered & Grilled Sourdough was nice and crunchy with a solid spicy kick. The melty, blended Sharp Cheddar and Havarti made for killer cheese pulls and had a wonderful buttery aroma & taste together. The Horseradish Aioli continued to up the spice of this sandwich beautifully. This gourmet sandwich was royally delicious!

For a side, we had the Buttermilk Biscuit & Sage Sausage Gravy.

YUM - savory goodness at it's finest folks. The biscuit was soft and doughy and the gravy was hearty & thick.

The Colorado Blueberry Streusel Pancake is made with Fresh Blueberries, Toasted Streusel, Lemon Honey Butter and Blueberry Infused Maple Syrup.

YUMMO. The Colorado Blueberry Streusel Pancake came to our table PIPING HOT (just how we like it) & nice and fluffy. The fresh, ripe blueberries bled into each pancakey bite with a burst of sweetness and a tinch of acidity. The toasted streusel topping added a nice crunchy texture and smelled fabulous. Brunch dessert lovers, this is the pancake for you!

Huge thanks to Karla and the Urban Egg team for hosting us! We will see you all again very soon!

Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you!
