We had the pleasure of meeting the Denver Slater's 50/50 owner & manager, Charlie Murray, who gave us a great run down of the place and how his vision for the restaurant has come together. Charlie and our waitress, Kelsey, ensured we had a fab dining experience and we really got to see what the restaurant has to offer. Service was attentive, timely, & most of all FUN!

Staying true to it's RiNo surroundings, Slater's 50/50's interior has a vivacious train inspired lewk with some funky artwork to match. Any Big Lebowski fans?!

Slater's 50/50 taps over 1000 different craft beers so you'll be able to imbibe to your heart's content and also try some beers you've probably never heard of! You can get little tasters to make sure you're going to like what you order as well!

I had a little taster of the Stem Ciders, Lavender Apple Cider and this drink took me totally by surprise. The cider is infused w/ dried Lavender, cinnamon, and orange peel and is SO good. It's a refreshing cider with just a hit of the floral lavender notes. Next time I'm definitely ordering a 16oz of this one!

I had the Funkwerks, Tropic King Imperial Saison. This beer has notes of passion fruit, mango, pepper, and ginger. This was a solid flavorful beer that I enjoyed throughout the meal.

Marci ordered the Weldwerks Brewing, Juicy Bits Hazy. This beer is a New England IPA with huge citrus and tropical fruit character from the Mosaic, Citra, and El Dorado hops. Marci loves this beer!

Slater's spiced popcorn with bacon bits is a great snack to start off with, with the beers of your choosing!

For Starters, we had the Slater’s Vampire Dip and the Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos. & as we get into the food pics - notice the presentation of each! Slater's 50/50 takes pride in sending out dishes that taste as good as they look.

The Slater’s Vampire Dip is roasted garlic and artichoke hearts blended with creamy melted cheese, served in a sourdough bread bowl with crispy pita and veggies for dipping.

There is no such thing as too much garlic - I am the opposite of a vampire lol. This dip was full of roasted garlic, artichokes and melty cheese. Extremely addictive and overflowing with flavor, this is a great shareable for the table!

The Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos are made with spicy sushi-grade ahi tuna, cilantro slaw, toasted sesame seeds, pickled jalapeños, chipotle crema, scallions and chile-lime hominy piled high on crispy corn chips.

This is a healthier shareable option for the table and for all the poke, sushi and ceviche lovers - this starter has your name all over it! This dish was beautiful and I loved the texture variation of the entire thing.

For Entrees, we had the Best Damn Bacon Cheeseburger and the Power Bowl.

The Best Damn Bacon Cheeseburger is made with certified Angus Beef, thick-cut bacon, grilled onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and thousand island on a brioche bun. Marci also added onion rings for an extra crunch - look at this beaut of a burger!

Slater's 50/50 is known for their burgers & this burger hit that point ALL the way home. The Angus Beef had AMAZING flavor. Each mouthful came across rich & beefy with accents of crisp bacon, sweet onions, tangy thousand island sauce and gooey American cheese. WOAH... just made my own mouthwater lol. Needless to say I need another Best Damn Bacon Cheeseburger in my life STAT.

The Power Bowl is made with a quinoa veggie patty with edamame, blueberries, mixed greens, carrots, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, quinoa, avocado and wildflower honey vinaigrette.

This is a lighter option on Slater's 50/50 menu that has stellar nutritional value. My favorite touch to this dish was the blueberries!

Now, you can't leave Slater's 50/50 without having one of their famous milkshakes for dessert! We had the Happy Happy Birthday Shake and the Ultimate S'more Shake.

The Happy Happy Birthday Shake is a vanilla Funfetti shake made with a Jolly Rancher crusted rim, topped with sprinkles, Twinkies and a cupcake, & finished with sparklers. Marci also added a shot of Huckleberry Vodka for an extra zing!

a19.jpg

The Ultimate S’more Shake is a toasted marshmallow shake with a marshmallow fluff and crumbled graham cracker crusted rim, topped with toasted marshmallows, chocolate syrup and a campfire roasted s’more. That's right, a full freaking s'more! #YAS. I then had a shot of 8 Ball Chocolate Whiskey added in per Kelsey's recommendation!

These milkshakes were incredible - I already can't wait to go back in for more - AND there are several more milkshake flavors I have to try!

Huge thanks to Slater's 50/50 for hosting us & we'll be seeing you there Denverites (with numerous milkshakes in hand lol and lots of good times ahead)!
